Wine At The Table

The quiet before the storm

04 July 2008

Quiet week, didn’t want to over do it before the weekend.

However, last night I took a delivery of freshly dug up Tasmanian truffles with a bottle of Desaunay-Bissey Gevrey-Chambertin 2002 which was a soft, elegant wine, what all entry level pinot should be like. We drank it with green asparagus in butter and truffle sauce, fresh pasta with truffle omlettes and quail stuffed with truffles.

The truffles are looking good, very perfumed. Quality now seems more or less on par with France.
