Wine At The Table

Busy but you still need to eat

24 November 2007

Not had much lately due to having been working 18 hour days. Sad

Still, managed to fit in two good meals the last two nights:

Thursday night: Pork

Drank a Domaine de Rapatel “Clos Cyril” 2000 with it. Weird DMS notes mixed with raisin-like grenache aromas. Very strange and it wore me out in the end, we didn’t finish the bottle. The pork was awesome though.

Ce soir: Fresh seafood from the market around the corner

I love this time of year, the weather is crisp but reviving and all the seafood tastes fantastic.

Huîtres

Langoustines

Les Poissons

We drank with these a fabulous Jacques Selosse Extra Brut. A mesmerising nose of sherbet, musk, rose water, coconut and vanilla. The palate is beautiful proportioned, rich, a sumptuous texture made for lovers of Champagne. If you haven’t tried it, you must.

This bottle was disgorged on the 12th of December, 2002. It was a pointe I feel.
