Quick report from harvest
It’s been a seriously insane week or so. I’ve been in Burgundy picking. I ache all over. I have cuts on my fingers, typing is hard. I’ll make a full report later.

Faiveley Clos de Beze 1989 – simply amazing, silenced any criticism I could make about this estate, I know nothing about wine
Rousseau Clos St Jacques 1988

Tasted countless other wines, enough for a life time.
Other highlights:
Intensive, selective picking around Gevrey/Brouchon and Morey. Bringing in the grapes at Clos St. Jacques with the Rousseau clan. Discussing the vendanges with locals from Gevrey, Morey and Vosne. Clocked up 300 kms on the rental car zipping around vineyards checking ripeness and rot — from Le Montrachet to Le Chambertin. Makes Paris look seriously ordinary by comparison.
